Shocking Blue And the Dutch Music Invasion of 1970
Description
Shocking Blue was joined by Tee Set and George Baker Selection as successful acts that producer Jerry Ross brought to the U.S. Ross, a lyricist traveled to Hamburg and Zurich in 1969. He discovered that tracks by the Dutch bands were available. Shocking Blue's Venus became a mega hit in the United States. Released in December 1969 it peaked at #1 in February 1970. Tee Set's "Ma Belle Amie" was a big hit in America as well, along with "Little Green Bag" by George Baker. The mini Dutch invasion recalled the previous, albeit larger, English invasion, of the mid 1960s. --Provided by publisher.
